The Birma.lv website and online store are created and maintained using the Mozello platform.

This Cookie Policy applies together with the Birma.lv Privacy Policy.

Currently, no additional manual third-party visit counters have been knowingly added to Birma.lv. The previously used LiveInternet and Rambler Top100 counters are no longer used.

4. Services used by Birma.lv

Mozello

Category: Necessary

The Mozello platform ensures the technical operation of the Birma.lv website and online store.

Mozello cookies may be necessary to ensure:

• the user session;
• online store functions;
• the shopping cart;
• storing the user’s choices;
• storing the cookie consent choice;
• other core website functions.

Mozello states that in its cookie consent solution, non-essential first-party cookies are disabled by default until the user consents to them.

Cloudflare

Category: Necessary

Birma.lv uses Cloudflare and HTTPS solutions to ensure website security, connection protection, and technical operation.

Depending on the enabled security mechanisms, Cloudflare may use technically necessary cookies, for example, to:

• protect the site against malicious traffic;
• manage security checks;
• distinguish legitimate traffic from automated requests;
• store information about a successfully completed security check.

For example, in certain security scenarios Cloudflare may use cf_clearance or other technically necessary cookies.

These cookies are not used for Birma PETS advertising purposes.

5. Google Analytics 4

Activation: only after the user’s consent to the “Statistics” category

Birma.lv uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to obtain statistics on website usage and to improve Birma.lv performance and the user experience.

Google Analytics may process information about:

• website visits;
• sessions;
• visited pages;
• device and browser information;
• approximate geographic location;
• user actions on the website;
• online store events.

Birma.lv has enabled the Google Analytics 4 enhanced measurement feature.

Google states that in the standard GA4 configuration the following first-party cookies are used:

Google notes that browsers may apply shorter actual storage limits.

By default, Google Analytics may also collect information about the number of users, sessions, approximate geographic location, browser, and device.

If the user does not consent to statistics cookies, Google Analytics statistics cookies are not activated via the Birma.lv consent mechanism.

6. Meta Pixel

Activation: only after the user’s consent to the “Marketing” category

Birma.lv uses Meta Pixel to analyze the results of Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns.

Meta Pixel may be used for:

• tracking ad conversions;
• evaluating advertising campaign effectiveness;
• creating advertising audiences;
• providing retargeting/remarketing;
• receiving information about certain actions on Birma.lv.

Meta states that its partners, using Meta business tools including Meta Pixel, may send Meta information about actions on the partner’s website, the device, pages visited, and purchases.

Meta Pixel may use cookies and other similar technologies. Their specific name and duration may depend on Meta’s current technical configuration.

Meta Pixel is not activated merely because the user opens Birma.lv — the use of marketing technologies is subject to the user’s choice in the Birma.lv cookie banner.

7. How is user consent obtained?

When visiting Birma.lv for the first time, the user is shown the Mozello cookie management banner.

There the user can choose:

“Accept all”
— allow necessary, statistics, marketing, and other selected cookie categories;

“Accept necessary only”
— use only the cookies necessary for the operation of the website;

or choose:

“Customize”

and manage categories separately:

• Necessary;
• Statistics;
• Marketing;
• Other.

Necessary cookies cannot be disabled with the Birma.lv consent tool because they are required for the operation of the website and the functions requested by the user.

The use of statistics and marketing cookies is not a prerequisite for using the Birma.lv online store.

The DVI emphasizes that the user must have a real possibility to refuse non-essential cookies and that the choice must be free.

8. How to change or withdraw cookie consent?

The user may at any time change their choice and withdraw previously given consent to statistics, marketing, or other non-essential cookies.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing activities carried out before the withdrawal.

Birma.lv provides the possibility to reopen cookie settings and change the previously made choice.

The user must be able to refuse non-essential cookies as easily as to accept them. The Data State Inspectorate indicates as good practice a permanently available cookie settings link or tool on the website.

In addition, the user can manage and delete cookies in their web browser settings.

However, using browser settings does not replace the consent management option provided by Birma.lv.

9. How long are cookies stored?

The duration of cookies depends on the specific cookie and the purpose for which it is used.

Cookies may be:

session cookies — used during a specific browser session;

or

persistent cookies — stored on the user’s device for a certain period of time.

The retention periods of cookies of external services used by Birma.lv are also determined by the providers of the respective technologies.

The default retention period for the standard Google Analytics 4 _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies is up to two years, unless a shorter period is set in the configuration.

The retention period of Cloudflare cookies depends on the specific security service and the situation in which the cookie is used.

10. Who may receive cookie-related data?

Depending on the cookie categories chosen by the user and the specific service, data may be transferred to or become available to:

• SIA “Birma PETS Services”;
• Mozello — the provider of the website and online store platform;
• Cloudflare — for providing site security and technical infrastructure;
• Google — if the user has consented to statistics cookies;
• Meta — if the user has consented to marketing cookies.

Personal data are not transferred to third parties solely so that those parties may use them for their own independent purposes, except where this is provided for by the operation of the relevant service or by applicable laws.

Birma.lv may contain links to third-party websites, social network profiles, delivery service providers, payment service providers, and other external services.

When opening a third party’s website, the relevant third party’s cookie and privacy terms apply to the user.

Birma.lv is not responsible for the cookie usage practices of third-party websites.

13. Product data integrations

Birma.lv also uses product information data feeds, i.e., XML integrations with certain price comparison, advertising, and commerce platforms.

Such product data feeds are not cookies on the user’s device in themselves and are not considered part of the Birma.lv user cookie consent mechanism.

If an external platform is opened separately, the cookie terms of the respective service provider may apply on its website.

14. Changes to the Cookie Policy

SIA “Birma PETS Services” is entitled to update this Cookie Policy if:

• the technologies used by Birma.lv change;
• external services are added or removed;
• the procedure for using cookies changes;
• requirements of laws or supervisory authorities change.

The current version of the Cookie Policy is always published on Birma.lv.

If new non-essential cookies requiring user consent are introduced, they are not activated without appropriate consent.
